update
Rich and I received an update from our adoption coordinator, Patti. She explained that there is going to be a delay. The Department of International Adoption in Hanoi approved us (Yay!) and sent our paperwork to the Provincial Officials in Ho Chi Minh City. The officials there, after looking at the work the orphanage did when they received our daughter, decided that they feel the need to repeat the investigation into Hien’s birth parents. Patti thinks this is happening because the requirements for birth parent investigations have become more stringent after Olivia’s was completed. We are hoping that the delay will be relatively short, a month or so. Of course, at this point a month seems to feel like forever!
We received a few photos and I have attached our favorite. We spoke to a woman who just got home from adopting her daughter from the same orphanage as Olivia. She said that she is walking and talking and acting like a typical 2 year old.
Isn’t that Wonderful!
