Update

Hi Everyone,
We have had a busy time latey. I'll start from the beginning.
Tuesday (9/11/2007) we got the call. Robin called me and could barely talk. Our coordinator wanted to know if we could travel on 9/23, and do the Giving and Receiveing Ceremony on 10/2.
Naturally we said YES, and started to pack. We had a meeting with the head of the VN program at PSBI to go over the travel plans. All looked great. The only concern is a form the Consulate has to do because of infectious disease exposure. Olly had some infections when she was younger, but they are completely cleared up now.
Well, as the week progressed, we got everything ready. I applied for our VN Visas, and we readied our employers for the change. My employer has been great and I started to train my replacement. Robin got her "customers" ready and everything was going well.
We were concerned about the Consulate is all. PSBI's employee in VN went to the US Consualte to see what needed to be done for the form. They seem to have indicated they were not aware of our need since their computers have been down for a month. Hang, from PSBI, had copies of the emails with her, so they got the ball rolling immediately.
We now have had to postpone, and are a little nervous. Olly needs to be tested for infectious diseases that we know she was exposed to but that have been cleared up. Due to the debacle last year over a US citizen traveling with drug resistent TB, Homeland Security has become more stringent.
So, our tentative schedule is currently on hold, and we are sitting, waiting for word. Comfort foods have become a staple. So many family and friends and even people we hardly know opened up to support us, and we feel truly gifted. Still, we are so close, it is a little... frustrating.
I hope this post is not too much of a bummer. We still see this as the greatest thing we have ever done, and we love Olivia with our whole hearts. I hope to have more soon.
